When Peter issues a call to holy living in his first letter, many of his sentences begin with “you must.” There appears to be no wiggle room there. “You must live as God’s obedient children. You must…be holy in everything you do; live in reverent fear of God; show sincere love to each other.” Holy living is a challenge for everyone. But the promise of Jesus through His resurrection gives us strength for the challenge. The love God showers on us should fuel us with joy and purpose in our endeavor to be holy and reverent and loving. Keep reaching for victory in God’s challenges, friends. Peter reminds us that all our little victories for Christ will culminate in this great victory: “For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.” Victorious through Christ with you, Tracy
