This week our pastors will talk about faithfulness, another fruit of the Spirit. Sometimes God encourages our faithfulness by giving us a new perspective. Maybe you have noticed this out an airplane window from 30,000 feet up: You see snow capped mountains, then clouds block your view. Minutes later, in the distance, you can see snowy mountain tops peeking through the clouds. Or are they just tall thunderheads protruding above the other clouds? God sees and understands what we cannot. Oh Lord, I see a mountain looming large. How will I ever get over it? And the Lord whispers, Peace, child. That’s just a cloud we will walk through together. Conversely, we can happily move along, see some clouds ahead, enter the mist, then bonk! (that’s a Nana word), we run straight into a mountain. God says, It’s not what it seems. Let’s take the detour together.

God’s Word affirms, “I am with you always,” climbing mountains or walking blindly through clouds. He knows where we are. God knows what’s coming. God’s perspective is truth-filled, while ours is sometimes anxiety-filled. His Word is our guide. He knows the most important part of the journey isn’t finding our way through mist or mountain. It’s finding Him. We read in Psalm 31,  “But I trust in you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hands.” When we can repeat that verse with certainty, faithfulness can grow within us and our perspective can align better with the Lord’s. On the journey with Jesus, and with you, TracyÂ
