Ooooh, they are in trouble now! Through Malachi, the Lord told the priests all the things they were doing to show contempt for His name. The Lord praised their ancestor Levi, with whom He had made “a covenant of life and peace.” Levi revered God and stood in awe of His name. Levi spoke God’s truth while he walked in peace and uprightness with God. That’s a good goal for all of us, isn’t it? Let’s walk in peace and honesty, awe and honor, with our Lord. We have a life-long goal to give God our best. We might need to rearrange our schedule or change our attitude, put a guard over our mouth or turn from selfish thoughts more quickly.Â
Paul tells us how to reach our goal in Romans 12. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. We can be continually transformed and renewed as we seek His will and give our hearts to our Savior. Who wants to join God’s covenant of life and peace? Ooooh, I do! Bet you do, too! ~TracyÂ
