Pastor Timothy Merrill wrote, “For the believer, aging is not a slow winding down to the grave – it is a winding up to glory. The apostle Paul wrote, “for this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure (2 Corinthians 4:17). To live with hope is to recognize that God is still writing your story, and the final chapter is more glorious than anything yet imagined.” Now that is a beautiful thought – winding up to glory! Our pastors are beginning a sermon study of Timothy, a young man who was revving up his ministry under Paul’s mentorship. Paul was a perfect example of an older disciple of Christ winding up to glory. He was fiercely faithful to His Savior and looked forward to a glorious eternity with Him. God is writing all our stories, each chapter marked with holy fingerprints. Like Paul and Timothy, our stories will lead to a glorious ending and heavenly sequel. Winding up with you, Tracy
