Inspired!

Great big grapefruit are hanging in the sunshine on our old tree. I am so inspired by it. A quarter of the tree died last year, was cut off, then another quarter died and was cut off. We were happily surprised that the remaining half bloomed and produced a small but splendid crop. The tree lost half of itself and still produced good fruit. Some of us might feel like we’ve lost part of ourselves due to illness, employment change, family loss. I am so inspired by those of you who are still producing good fruit! Isaiah prophesied about the coming Messiah and said, “He will not crush the weakest reed or put out a flickering candle.” Even if we lose half of ourselves, God can help us bear fruit. He encourages us to grow even closer to Jesus and remain firmly attached. Our faith can be evident whatever season we’re in, from the neighborhood to the pew to the dinner table to the hospital bed.
