You Promise?

You Promise?

The third week of Advent is celebrated with the Joy candle. We rejoice during Advent as Jesus promises in John 14:18, “I will come to you.” He came as the tiny Babe of Bethlehem and He comes to each of us today through His Word and Sacraments. When we draw near to the Lord in prayer, we have His Word and His assurance that He is with us. Jesus is near, even when we don’t feel Him there. The Lord even intercedes in prayer for us when we have no words. He offers deep joy and unnatural peace in His presence; have you felt that before? His presence is a wonderful gift and an eternal promise. He comes with the hope, peace, joy and love we all long for.

Jesus said, “The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” That’s a lot of holy love and a repeated beautiful promise! Dear Jesus, we are so grateful for Your love. Please show Yourself to us, fresh every day. Comfort us, heal us, fill us with joy, and help us live the holy lives You desire for us. In Your precious name, and with our love, Your People
