Typical Day

Typical Day

Few people know what goes on in your typical day. Here is a peek into a typical morning at Shepherd. Pastor Scott has coffee and shares faith stories with a couple interested in membership. Pastor Alan brings communion to someone who can no longer worship with us in person. Pastor John talks to a four-year-old and her family about baptism. Everyone in the church office is working toward wonderful worship, member care, fellowship, community service and smooth management of every detail at Shepherd. And we have so many terrific volunteers! We are a beautiful family of faith, working for you and with you, to please the Lord and share His love. The Lord asks us to give, share, lighten others’ burden, remove the chains that bind people and let the oppressed go free. (Isaiah 58) Amen, Lord, we want to do those things!

The staff’s typical day exists to encourage you in your typical day. Honestly, you please the Lord just by being you. You don’t have to do a thing to earn God’s love. He does ask us to share that Love though. As family in Christ, we share God’s love collectively and individually. We donate food and clothes and share our money and time. We help our neighbor who broke her hip, and we visit those who are caught in chains of loneliness or illness. We can even help Christ free the oppressed by talking to nonbelievers and sharing His Word of repentance, hope and freedom. What a blessing to live in Shepherd’s family of faith! What is our typical day like? Will it be different tomorrow if we start with prayer, then keep our eyes open and our ears tuned to our Savior? ~Your sister in Christ, Tracy
