Thoughts

When you read the Bible, don’t you just love it when Jesus openly shows someone He is God? He is the perfect and incomprehensible blend of God and man. Often He walks dusty roads with His disciples, like one of them. Then He walks on water. He eats in people’s homes, like all the guests. But then, He feeds 5,000 and they are all the guests of God. Sometimes His God-ness shines in massive miracles. Yet always He is powerfully personal. Here is an example in Luke 7:39-40: When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know what kind of woman is touching him. She’s a sinner!”

“Then Jesus answered his thoughts. “Simon,” he said to the Pharisee, “I have something to say to you.”

“Go ahead, Teacher,” Simon replied.

Then Jesus answered his thoughts. A personal, pointed miracle, knowing the thoughts of the doubting Pharisee and correcting him with a parable he could understand. Just think of the infinite power of God in Christ on earth, multiplying fish, fighting evil, healing, teaching, even resurrecting, yet being keenly aware of personal thoughts, one-on-one. Let’s just humbly sit a minute at the feet of our Savior and be overwhelmed by His power and mercy. To God be the glory!  ~Tracy
