Faithful Follow Up

Our church has a wonderful group of prayer warriors who faithfully pray for requests that come from our members and friends. We love to receive word of an answered prayer, but sometimes we don’t get any follow up or learn how the Lord answered. Here’s how it went when ten men with leprosy cried out for help, received it, and only one gave a faithful follow up to his answered prayer: One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.” (Luke 17:11-19) 

Like the one healed, we aim to give Jesus faithful follow up. We seek Him, believe, pray and obey; and when we receive His gracious answer, we run to Him shouting, “Praise God!” What a privilege it is to have prayer warriors interceding for us, joining their hearts with God’s. Prayer and praise are beautiful demonstrations of loving the Lord our God with all our heart and loving our neighbor as ourselves. We could all fall to the ground at Jesus’ feet and thank Him for what He has done for each of us. Amen? Amen!
