I Know Him!

I Know Him!

Our family likes to watch Elf on Christmas Day. Buddy has some classic lines. When he learns that Santa is coming to the store, he squeals with excitement, “I know him! I know him!” What if our congregation sang Hark! The herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King!” and the children squealed, “I know Him! I know the King!” Excitement fills the air at Christmas, for many reasons. Most importantly, as God’s people, we are excited to welcome the newborn King into our hearts again and again. Let that child-like excitement and pure joy fill your heart this Christmas. If an anxious thought or a cross word threatens to erupt in the holiday rush, think again about those holy baby hands. Clenched baby hands, like all baby hands, that grew open, strong, and sacrificial. Remember, Jesus’ holy hands always reach for you.

Still stressed? Take a deep breath, refocus your thoughts, and say to yourself, “I know Him! I know Him!” Feel free to jump up and down with excitement, like Buddy. Or quietly lift a hand into the air, reach for your Savior and know His hand is already reaching for you. Matthew 1:21, “And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Giving glory to the newborn King with you, Tracy
