Good Seeds

Acres of bright flowers lined the country road between the growing squash and corn fields. Curious non-farmer that I am, I looked up why they were not cut and sold. Some flower fields are planted to draw pollinators like bees, who enjoy the colorful flowers then go to the squash blossoms next door. Some flowering plants provide nutrients for the soil that make it better prepared for vegetable crops next season. Who knew? Well, the farmer knew. In Matthew 13, Jesus said of the parable of the wheat and weeds, “The Son of Man is the farmer who plants the good seed.” Jesus knows the good seed, where He wants to plant it, and when He will harvest it. Isn’t it beautiful to think that God knows exactly where you are? He has plans for you! In the end, “the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father’s Kingdom.” Keep growing, good seeds!
