Legacy

Has your family left a special legacy for you? Our pastors will talk a little about spiritual legacies on Sunday. They have been looking at Timothy, who continued the legacy of his family and the great apostle, Paul. Spiritual legacies began in the Garden of Eden, I suppose. Adam and Eve’s relationship with God Almighty set a pattern everyone has followed since. After living with God in his Light and Love, their hearts and minds turned away with the snake’s whispers. They listened to the wrong voice, questioned God’s character and Word, and that dark choice derailed their life in Eden. So began the legacy that Jesus died to overcome for us. We also live with choices and voices that lead us on good paths or through dark detours. A Christian heart longs to hear the voice of the Lord while walking life’s path with their Creator, the way Adam and Eve did in the beginning. In God’s merciful plan, Jesus came to make the way for people to again walk with the Spirit in the garden. We are invited to join God there and listen to His voice over the world’s din. Then we can share that knowledge and faith with others and invite them to also listen to His voice and walk in His light. Picture walking with the Lord in your own little Eden. Who else would you like walking with you? Who will you invite to be adopted into the legacy of God’s Light and Love? Prayers for God’s legacy of mercy and salvation to reign! ~Tracy
