At Shepherd we seek to provide ministry to the “whole person,” addressing people’s spiritual, physical and emotional needs from a Biblical perspective. Just as Jesus reached out with compassion to people with various needs, so we also, as God’s people, extend the compassion of Christ to those in our circles of influence. Our Healing & Care Ministry includes the following areas of service, which are in turn supported by a number of ministry groups including our TeleCare, Greeting Card, and Knit & Stitch (handcrafts) ministries. Stephen Ministry is about giving care to those who need it by congregation members specially trained in compassionate listening. Pastors care one way. Family and loved ones care in another. But somewhere between a crisis and the calm there may be room for another Christian to come alongside and listen, pray and encourage.
