In Plain Sight

In Plain Sight

The hedgehog was nestled in the manger next to baby Jesus. Hiding in plain sight, I didn’t find it for days. I play a hide-and-seek game with our neighbor’s granddaughter using a little ceramic hedgehog. Last week, she put it in the manger in our nativity display out front. I moved it to her grandma’s wreath. Made me think of ways we find Jesus, often “hiding” in plain sight. A visit from a friend, an extra long hug from a loved one, a friendly person in line, a joyful worship service, marvelous pastors at church, a hiding hedgehog…all these are “Jesus with skin on.” Individual humans in a world of millions, letting others know they are seen, appreciated, loved. 1 John 1:14 “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.” The Word came in plain sight to find and save us, so we could live and love like He did. What glorious love! Christmas joy, Tracy
