Hopeful Harvest

We are staying amid bountiful farms this month. I enjoy seeing the sprouting corn and picking berries on beautiful farms with red barns and cute little goats. I love seeing Christmas tree farms, some with seven foot pines and others with seven inch seedlings. Those little trees look like hope to me. Hopeful farmers can wait over ten years for those little beauties to mature. When Jesus told the parable of the sower and the seeds, He harbored hope for His growing disciples and future faithful followers. Jesus explains: “The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest.” What does your harvest look like, faithful one? Corn and Christmas trees are lovely, but your crop is special. It’s your offering to God, grown by understanding God’s Word and living it. Remember how special you are, and how important your harvest is.
