Dinner Table

Can you imagine what the Widow at Zarephath felt when God’s prophet Elijah invited himself to her dinner table? He asked her to make the last of her bread and to feed him first, before her starving son. She agreed and then the miraculous happened. God replenished her containers of flour and olive oil every day. When her son later died, Elijah prayed that God would return the boy’s life, and He did! 1 Kings 17:24 records: And the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is truth.”  She finally believed! What a glorious thing to hear at our dinner table, too. The word of the Lord in your mouth is truth. Another reminder that what goes in our mouths is important, but never as important as the Word coming out.
