Where are we going?

Have you ever felt like Thomas in John 14? Here is part of the conversation between Jesus and Thomas. Jesus says, “When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.”
“No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Can you relate? Something happens and you look up to heaven and say, “I have no idea where you are going with this, Lord!” That can happen to all of us. What is a person to do when God’s way isn’t clear? Remember what Jesus said next, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Proverbs 4:25-27 gives us an everyday patterned response to walking God’s way. “Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.” So we focus straight ahead on the safe, healthy, holy and level path, careful to clear any obstacles ahead. And we rejoice in Jesus’ promise, ”I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” Now maybe we know where You are going with this, Lord! ~Tracy
